Jorge Gonzalez joined City National Bank of Florida in 2009 and is currently the Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of the Board.
A native Miamian, he places community, education, health, and culture at the heart of his driving philosophy.
Jorge has twice been named “Ultimate CEO” by the South Florida Business Journal and recognized among the “Top Ten Leaders” by Hispanic Executive Magazine. He was also honored as “Corporate Citizen of the Year” by the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce.
Jorge is active in several charity and community organizations. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital System, FIU CasaCuba Board and the Institute of Contemporary Art. He is also a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization. Prior community roles include executive committee positions with United Way, the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, Beacon Council, Downtown Development Authority, Museum of Discovery and Science, and the Miami Sports and Exhibition Authority.
Jorge has more than 35 years of banking experience. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and International Business from Florida International University and is a graduate of the Kenan-Flagler Business School Executive Leadership Training program at the University of North Carolina. Jorge is married to Melinda Gonzalez and is the proud father of teenage twins.
Rafael Barrera Renault is Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer for City National Bank of Florida (CNB) and has nearly 20 years of Human Resources experience.
Rafael joined CNB from Bci in 2017, where he served as Director of Human Resources for the Chilean bank. Before joining Bci, Rafael served as Superintendent of Human Resources for Methadex Corporation.
Rafael holds a Bachelor of Arts in Labor Psychology from the Pontífica Universidad Católica de Chile and a Master of Arts in Organizational Psychology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, in Spain.
James Campanella is Executive Vice President, Chief Operations Officer for City National Bank of Florida (CNB) and has 20 years of banking experience.
James joined CNB from Wells Fargo, where he served as Mortgage Consultant. Before entering the banking industry, James served as Chief Engineer for EVS Broadcast Company and The Boeing Company.
James holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Florida and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech.
Mario Carballo is Executive Vice President, Co-General Counsel and Director of Asset Recovery for City National Bank of Florida (CNB) and has more than 20 years of banking experience.
Mario joined CNB from LNR Partners in 2011, where he served as Assistant General Counsel. Previously, Mario held legal counsel positions in the Burger King Corporation, the Bilzin Sumberg law firm, and the Mershon Sawyer law firm.
Mario holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Florida International University and a Juris Doctorate degree from Cornell Law School.
Steven Hayworth is Executive Vice President, Private & Wealth Management Executive for City National Bank of Florida (CNB) and has more than 30 years of banking experience.
Steve joined CNB from Seaside National Bank & Trust in 2020, where he served as Vice Chairman of The Board. Previously, he was the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Gilbraltar Private Bank and Trust.
Steve has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida and a Master of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Miami.
McHenry Kane is Executive Vice President, Co-General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for City National Bank of Florida (CNB) and has more than 20 years of legal experience.
McHenry joined CNB from New York Community Bank in 2019, where he served as Senior Vice President, Director of Anti-Money Laundering. Previously, he served in various executive and legal positions at SunTrust and in the private legal field.
McHenry holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Wake Forest University and both a Master of Arts in Business Administration and Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina.
Hugo Loynaz is Executive Vice President, Chief Credit Officer for City National Bank of Florida (CNB) and has more than 25 years of banking experience.
Hugo joined CNB from Ocean Bank in 2010, where he served as Senior Vice President, Chief Credit Officer. Previously, he served in various executive and financial roles for Citibank and Bank of America.
Hugo holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Maryland.
Jose Marina is Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer for City National Bank of Florida (CNB) and has more than 20 years of financial experience.
Jose joined City National Bank in 2018 through the bank’s acquisition of TotalBank, where he served as the Chief Financial Officer since 2009. Previously, Jose served as an accountant in the private sector, where he planned and performed external and internal audits in a variety of industries with a special focus on the banking industry.
Jose is a CPA and has both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Accounting from Florida International University.
Ali Moghaddam is Executive Vice President, Chief Enterprise Risk Executive and Bank Secrecy Act & Foreign Asset Control Officer for City National Bank of Florida (CNB) and has more than 15 years of experience monitoring and combating financial crimes.
Ali joined CNB from Los Angeles-based City National Bank in 2021, where he served as Bank Secrecy Act and Office of Foreign Asset Control Officer. Previously, he served on various specialized roles for Promontory Financial Group, UBS Financial Services, as well as the U.S Government.
Ali holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of California, and a Juris Doctorate from Temple University, Beasley School of Law. He also holds a Master of Science in Middle Eastern and Latin America history from California State University.
John P. Paradisi is Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy Officer for City National Bank of Florida (CNB) and has more than 20 years of banking experience.
John joined CNB from CIT Bank in New York, where he most recently served as Managing Director, Chief Strategy Growth Officer from 2016 to 2019, and as Managing Director & Global Head of Corporate Development and M&A, Strategic Initiatives from 2010 to 2016.
John serves on the board of directors of BciCapital, a wholly owned specialty leasing subsidiary of CNB, and on the board of directors of Junior Achievement of Greater Miami, a nonprofit organization working to promote financial capability, work and career readiness, and business ownership for at-risk youth.
John holds a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and an M.B.A. in Management from Pace University Lubin School of Business, in New York.
Mara Suarez is Executive Vice President, Business & Personal Banking Executive at City National Bank of Florida (CNB) and has more than 35 years of banking experience.
Mara oversees CNB’s statewide business plan for 31 banking centers, setting performance standards and building a foundation for growth and expansion. She also manages the bank's Treasury Management division.
Mara is a former member of the board for the Center of Financial Training (CFT), the training partner for banks, credit unions and other financial institutions; a former board member of The Children’s Home Society; and a member of the Tocqueville Society of United Way Miami. For her commitment to community, Mara was recognized by the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce as Business Woman of the Year in 2013.
Ms. Suarez received her finance and lending education through the Academy of International Business (AIB), the leading association of scholars and specialists in the field of international business.
Ivan Vera is the Chief Audit Officer for City National Bank of Florida (CNB) and holds more than 20 years of experience in risk management, including Bank Secrecy Act/Anti‐Money Laundering compliance audits, regulatory compliance audits, loan reviews, allowance for loan and lease losses reviews, fair lending audits and consumer compliance audits.
Ivan joined CNB from Chilean bank Bci, where he most recently served as the Regional Audit Manager for the Miami area. Before entering the banking industry, Ivan served as Financial Auditor for Arthur Andersen and a Financial Analyst for Telefonica Chile.
Ivan graduated with distinction from the University of Chile with a Master of Science in Finance and holds an Accounting and Auditing Bachelor from University of Santiago. He is a Certified Internal Auditor, an Anti‐Money Laundering Certified Associate, and a Certified Community Bank Internal Auditor. In addition, he is a member of the IIA
Erik Weiner is Executive Vice President, Central Florida Market President for City National Bank of Florida (CNB) and has more than 25 years of banking experience.
Erik joined CNB from Bank United in 2019, where he served as Senior Vice President and Corporate Banking Executive for Central Florida. Previously, he held various leadership and management roles for Fifth Third Bank, Regions Bank, SouthTrust Bank and Barnett Bank.
Erik has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida.
