Jorge Gonzalez is Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of City National Bank of Florida, the state’s second-largest financial institution and one of the Top 75 banks in the United States. A native Miamian with more than 30 years of banking leadership, Jorge is known for his transformative, people-first approach that combines strategic growth with deep community engagement.

Since becoming CEO in 2009, he has led CNB’s expansion from $3 billion to over $28 billion in assets, growing to 1,200+ employees across 30 banking centers and offices in Miami, Broward, Palm Beach, Orlando, and Tampa. Under his leadership, the bank has diversified across Business and Personal Banking, Commercial and Corporate Banking, Private Banking, Wealth Management, Commercial Real Estate, International Banking, and Capital Markets through BciCapital.

Guided by his “think big, act small” philosophy, Jorge has positioned CNB as one of the nation’s top-performing banks. The bank has been recognized as Business of the Year and honored for Outstanding Community Service by the South Florida Business Journal, and voted Best Bank by the Daily Business Review for 14 consecutive years across multiple categories including Best Community Bank, Best Business Bank, Best Private Bank, and Best Wealth Management. CNB also holds a 5-Star Superior rating from BauerFinancial.

Beyond the CNB boardroom, Jorge serves on the boards of Nicklaus Children’s Health System and the Institute of Contemporary Art and is an active member of the Florida Council of 100, Orange Bowl Committee, the 2026 Miami Host Committee for the College Football National Championship Game, and the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO). He is also a founding member of the Partnership for Miami and has held leadership roles with United Way, the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, Beacon Council, and the Museum of Discovery and Science.

Under his leadership, CNB supports organizations including United Way, Achieve Miami, Mount Sinai, Miami Dade College, and The Children’s Trust, focusing on education, healthcare, and the arts. Jorge earned his B.S. in Finance and International Business from Florida International University and completed the Executive Leadership Program at UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. He lives in Miami with his wife, Melinda, and they have teenage twins.
