Ernest Hartner is the Chief Strategy Officer at City National Bank of Florida (CNB), where he leads the bank’s enterprise growth and transformation agenda. He oversees Strategy, Data & Analytics, and TotalBank—CNB’s digital-only bank—bringing together strategic planning, analytics-driven execution, and digital innovation to strengthen performance and enhance the customer experience.
With more than 20 years of experience across financial services and management consulting, Ernest has worked at the intersection of strategy, growth, and digital transformation. Prior to joining CNB, he held leadership roles at Sabadell Bank in both Miami and Barcelona. Earlier in his career, he served as a consultant with the Boston Consulting Group, supporting clients across the United States, Latin America, and the Middle East.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Ernest now calls Miami home. He is a father of three and serves on the board of a nonprofit organization supporting STEM education at a local public school.
Ernest earned a B.A. in History and Literature from Wesleyan University, where he competed on the varsity wrestling team, and an MBA and M.A. in International Studies from the Wharton School and the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania. He is bilingual in English and Spanish.
