MIAMI, FL (July 13, 2026) – City National Bank of Florida (CNB) is accelerating its strategic expansion in the Tampa Bay region with a new headquarters office that will accommodate the bank’s growing team serving clients throughout Florida’s Gulf Coast. Located in Tampa’s Westshore District at 4890 West Kennedy Boulevard, the new corporate office will be the central workplace, a regional team that has tripled in size over the past year. The larger office will support continued growth, with CNB planning to increase its Tampa-based team by another 50 percent by the end of 2026.
CNB has nearly doubled its assets, deposits, and lending activity across the Tampa Bay and Gulf Coast region over the past year. Since the team’s formation in mid-2024, the portfolio has evolved from a primarily commercial real estate focus to a more balanced platform, with the C&I portfolio tripling in size. Loan activity in Tampa Bay is up 175% year-over-year, underscoring both the strong demand for capital and CNB’s expanding role as a key financing partner. City National Bank now serves a broad and diverse client base throughout Tampa Bay, including major corporations, prominent family offices, and growing mid-market businesses.
“Tampa Bay is one of the top banking markets in the country and a critical economic engine for Florida, making it a cornerstone of our statewide growth strategy,” said City National Bank Chief Wholesale Banking Officer Christian Sundblad. “Under Jason Russek’s leadership, we’ve built a high-performing team, expanded in key market segments, and made strategic investments that set us up for long-term success. With assets like the Port of Tampa playing a vital role in the movement of goods and regional commerce, Tampa Bay continues to offer a dynamic environment for businesses to grow and invest.”
Tampa Bay’s economic momentum continues to attract new residents and businesses, fueling demand for capital among operating companies, real estate developers, and professional services firms. The Tampa Bay Economic Development Corporation reported more than 29 corporate relocations or expansions, a surge driven by the area’s high quality of life, skilled workforce, and favorable business environment. Plan Hillsborough projects that nearly 400,000 new residents will move to the region by 2030, representing a growth rate of 7.4%, making it one of the fastest-growing markets in the sunbelt.
Over the past year, we've seen strong momentum across diverse sectors including pharmaceuticals, real estate, family offices, aviation, and hospitality. Recent transactions include financing new aviation infrastructure at a major regional airport and providing construction loans for initial multifamily developments in emerging markets.
“Our new office is designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and innovation while supporting the continued growth of our team, clients, and community,” said Jason Russek, Market President. “Expanding our footprint in Tampa Bay is a top priority as CNB enters its next phase of growth. This new space strengthens our long-term commitment to the region and positions us to support ongoing economic expansion across Florida’s West Coast.”
The Tampa team will continue serving clients across Florida’s Gulf Coast, including St. Petersburg, Sarasota, Bradenton, Fort Myers, and Naples, with comprehensive services spanning commercial and corporate banking, private banking and wealth management, and commercial real estate lending.
