
City National Bank of Florida (CNB), Florida’s second-largest bank, has appointed Sam Francois as Managing Senior Vice President (MSVP) and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). The addition of industry veteran Francois strengthens CNB’s leadership team as the bank pursues continued growth across Florida.
With more than 20 years of marketing expertise spanning digital, e-commerce, and corporate communications, Francois brings a track record of driving growth and brand transformation across diverse industries. As CMO, he will oversee the $28 billion bank’s integrated marketing activities, leveraging his experience to enhance CNB’s brand visibility in key markets throughout the state. This will include spearheading CNB’s existing partnerships with The University of Miami and the Orlando Magic. Francois will report to Chief Banking Officer Michael MacIntyre.

Prior to joining CNB, Sam served as SVP and Head of Marketing at Amerant Bank, where he led marketing functions focused on growing accounts, deposits, and client retention across multiple verticals. He also led partnerships with all four major league sports teams in South Florida, as well as the Tampa Bay Rays in an official or Hometown Bank partner capacity. Francois previously held roles at Carnival Cruise Line, Thomson Reuters, the Biltmore Hotel, and Verizon.
The addition of Francois comes as CNB adds team members in key markets such as South Florida, Palm beach, Orlando, and Tampa, with the bank expanding its workforce by 20 percent over the past 18 months. Strategic investments in talent recruitment and development are driving growth across business lines including Commercial and Corporate Banking, International Banking, Private Banking, Small Business Lending, Commercial Real Estate, and Capital Markets. With nearly $28 billion in assets, CNB ranks among the nation’s 75 largest banks, according to The Federal Reserve.
Francois holds a bachelor’s degree from Pace University and an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University. He is also a board member of B Harris Kids, a non-profit founded by tennis professional Briana Harris to introduce tennis and educational programs to underserved youth.
